hi my studer b-67 gets very hot ( on each side of the spooling motors) the unit gets very hot i just got this unit 2 weeks ago and i don't know if this is normal

It's normal. The motor drive transistors are located on either side on the top. The entire top is a heatsink.

thank you i was a bit concerned about that and ordered all new caps for each side of those boards i thought they may be going bad again thank you
