First of all my apologies for posting this in english. My german is not that good, but in these modern internet times, i guess most of you speak some english. It's no problem though should anyone reply in german (i am able to read and understand it).
I'm very new to the world of analog recording. I'm very experienced in pc / mac recording and all related programs and plugins.I want to learn more about analog recording (it really seems to be a wonderful thing!!). Now i just bought an studer B62 (no vu meter or other 'options'). It seems to be in excellent condition and has been completely revised.
It has two flaws (which do not concern the actual working of the machine)
1. the outer cover is missing
2. the plaque with the type and serial number has been removed.
My questions are these:
Can any of you give me some tips or advice about the studer B62?
What is the (sound) quality of this device compared to other studers?
What tapes should i best use?
Is there a way to date the machine? (since the serial has been removed)
Ok, now that's a lot questions

i hope someone can anwser some of my questions.
see you
